A new bit for my pony?
So my pony is really responsive in her current bit. It only takes a tiny pull to get her to respond but she's in a Dr. Bristol right now and I've heard mixed opinions about them, but this isn't about that, I just want a really mild, comfortable bit so she can be comfortable while we're riding. I found a French Link Snaffle that I really like and from what I understand that's about as mild as you can go without going bitless. (If it isn't please say what is!) I'm on a budget so I picked this bit, it's sweet iron and I would also like your opinions on that.

Also, I was wondering about that little notch in the middle of the middle part, most French Link Snaffles I've seen have that part perfectly rounded, does it make it harsher or milder or what does the notch there do?

My philosophy is "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
If your pony is going well in the Dr. Bristol you shouldn't change it. The differences between the Dr. Bristol and the French Link are not significant enough to warrant purchasing a new bit. People's mixed opinions should not matter if your pony is going well in it and seems to be happy, comfortable, and pain-free.
