Colors in hunter showing?

i am showing in walk/trot over poles in a show in may. I am trying to figure out what i need to buy. I have a really good, expensive square Saddle pad that is hunter green with white piping, and i am riding a bay mare in the show. Would this be ok? Also I was wondering can you wear a different color show shirt under your coat. I've seen alot of people in plaid and some brighter colors like peach and light blue... are these all acceptable?

For show, you should have a white pad, not a colored one, and usually you want a fleece or wool contoured pad (shaped like a saddle). Some shows wouldn't allow you in the arena with a colored pad, so to be safe, get the correct one, especially for hunters, where appearance is important.

Colored shirts is defintely acceptable and in style. Make sure that you have a show shirt with a choker collar and a stock pin. These are required. Make sure your shirt looks good with your coat color. If you aren't sure, white shirts are always in style. Navy coats look great with light blue shirts, grey coats with lavendar, brown with peach or yellow, and any plaid or stripe is acceptable.

Also make sure you have tan or beige breeches and tall field boots (assuming you are over the age of 12). Dont wear black or white breeches. Also, make sure you have the Knee Patch Breech and not full seat. Black or brown leather gloves and a velvet or velvet covered helmet are also required.
