I got tall boots for the first time today. Are they supposed to torture your legs?
Ok, so today I bought my first pair of tall boots for a show.
Heres what I bought:
Dublin Aristrocrat Field Boot
US size 9
Regular
Zip-ups
Heres the problem:
When I put them on in the store, they felt nice on me and I didn't have them on for long. When I got home I put them on and started to really walk around in them. I found that with the slightest bend of my knee, the top of them dig into the back of my knee. They also bend quite suckishly at the ankle. And one is tighter than the other (just on the calf)
Is this normal for tall boots?
Do they just have to be broken in?
Did I buy a good brand?
What do you recomend?

You obviously don't know what I'm talking about.
When you first wear a new pair of tall boots thats exactly what its like. Both of the spots you mentioned, behind the knee and at the ankle, are the hardest part to break in. Thats why its best to wear them when riding because that will fit them to the way they need to feel. so yes, that is perfectly normal for new tall boots.

aristocrat? yeah you definitely bought a good brand.
I recommend doing exactly what you're doing. Wear them around the house a little, then wear them to the barn and make sure you ride in them for a few weeks or so. After all that, they should be broken in. i had the same problem with my tall boots, but now they fit really well. They just need some breaking in.
