I'm such a newbie...what riding boots do I get?
I am starting a job as camp counselor for a horse camp this summer, and I need to go ahead and invest in some good riding boots.
I'm not sure if I should go for paddock boots or field boots, or if I should go for a lace-up style or zipper.
I won't be doing a lot of riding, but I will probably be walking in some deep sand in the arena, so I'm worried about choosing a boot that is both sturdy and anti-sand.
A paddock boot might be best, but does it go up far enough on the ankle to keep out the mud and sand?
Hellppp!!!!!!
I thought I would mention that I'm leaning toward Ariat brand.
And that I really don't want to go for a western boot, even though it might be best for the work I'm doing.
rubber riding boots? I'm liking it.
haha i like how she assumes i'm a "grown woman".
I have an Ariat western type boot that laces and goes up slightly above my ankle. They are fantastic. I would never buy another brand of boot. They are awesome to ride in, but also good in mud and other crap. I have really beat these boots up, but they are still in tact. When they do get muddy or horse poopy, I rinse they off with a hose and they are fine. I can even do it with them on, and never get wet feet. I've also had my toes stepped on a few times in them, and they really take the impact well and protect your feet. Plus they don't look "western"or "english". I can wear them with jeans and they look casual.
