Renowned for its sumptuous castles, vestiges of a royal past, the famous Loire Valley is at the same time rich in history and architecture. This is the trail we took and it takes in some of the great and majestic castles of the region.

Chambord, Chenonceau, Cheverny, the greatest castles of the Renaissance lay like a spring of pearls along the Loire and the Cher rivers. Nature also plays its part in this region, with the deep forests of Sologne and their high trees and the richness of game, which is known worldwide.

Welcoming host tables invite you to enjoy game, fish and the numerous vegetables of the region washed down with some Gamay or Cheverny wine. Gluttony is not a sin in this wealthy region!

You can spend a week discovering the beautiful castles on horseback and spend the nights in typical and beautiful guesthouses and if this all sounds a little bit archaic, you needn't worry, we we're even able to play Party Poker online from all but one of the guesthouses!

So if you're looking for an escape in the beautiful French countryside, horseback is by far the best way to enjoy all the culture and history that this historic country has to offer.
