HELP I NEED TO KNOW NOW!!?

I Have a 4-h show May 9th... Its fun classes and normal hunters, jumpers, and stuff like that. Im not staying for the fun classes though. Since its a 4-H show, do you think it would be okay to wear my half chaps and pink and black schooling jods, maybe my rust colored ones, or should i wear the """PROPER SHOW ATTIRE"""? Thanks! BTW i am doing WT open,WT Youth,and Jumping once around. THANKS

I am a firm believer that if something is worth doing- even just for fun- it's worth doing right.

Wear the proper attire- tan breeches, white shirt with collar, field boots and a navy or black jacket. If you don't have them, ask your horse friends and your trainer if they have any that might fit you. You can go to the local tack stores, find one that does consignment (used stuff) and buy some gently used show gear for pretty cheap.

If I were you, I would want to know that I placed where I did because of my skill, not because of the color of my breeches. Most judges, even at a local show, will place for overall picture. You want every possible edge over the competition. If you and another rider are equal in skill, the judge will pick the one with the most professional turnout and appearance; the one that presents the best, most acceptable snapshot of an English horse and rider.
