think of competing in poles on a horse with no tack?
I have been working with my horse for about a month or so now and I am thinking of entering her in competion on poles ( low end ) where they just walk them , but I want to do it with no tack ( no bridel , no halter and no Saddle. ( she can do this , and I have 30 more days to train for perfection ) ...
even tho it is the low side of competition walking the poles ,if I do it without tack , would that be impressive ?
how would you view this as a spectator , would it be a wow type thing?
Sounds like you're trying to copy the whole Stacy Westfall ride only with gymkhana instead of freestyle reining! Nothing wrong with trying to follow in her footsteps but I'm sure she's got a lot more horse experience and she said it took her over 2 years to perfect this with her horse. And you think you can do it in 30 days? That and I'm also pretty sure that if you tried it at the show, you'd be disqualified. Most shows have rules about riding without tack unless you are in a bareback class but even then you still need a bridle. If it were me, I wouldn't recommend trying it at the show. If you're looking to teach your horse this to better his response to your leg and body cues, then keep working at it...but don't expect "perfection" in 30 days. If you're just looking to show off, then save it for your friends and show off at home. Not in the arena.
