What English saddle for all disciplines?
So I want to start showing soon, and I need a saddle. I want to show in: hunter under saddle, show hack, hunter hack, equitation, show jumper, dressage, english pleasure, eventing, etc etc etc! Close contact/all purpose saddles are for flat riding and jumping, and dressage saddles are for dressage, but I only want one saddle! What type of saddle is good for ALL disciplines, whether jumping, flat work, or dressage? Thanks :]
I'm not looking for serious showing, just a few local shows. Nothing high class.
Also, I'm new in an English saddle and want a lot of support, what type gives the most?
A good All Purpose Saddle for what you want to do would be the Stubben Siegfried I've had LOTS of European made jumping and dressage saddles, but the first is ALWAYS the best. My old Siegfried is 40 years old this year and I've had it for 37 of it's 40 years. It's a Siegfried A/P and has seen me through my first dressage lessons, first flat lessons on my first TB back in the dark ages and even carried me over some of my larger fences, helping me stay on.

Those are a few used Stubbens. Most are all purpose but there's several dressage saddles thrown in there as well. The dressage are the straighter flaps, so those won't suit your purpose.
The reason for choosing a USED European saddle as opposed to a new Argentine or Indian made saddle is that they hold up much better and hold their value.
