hacked out pony alone for first time?
took her out for the first time alone with no other ponies and she seemed to be fine apart from when she heard other horses whinnying then she felt asif she was going to bolt off with me on her, dont think she would have but i got off her and walked her further round the trails just incase.
any tips/pointers for me wen taking her out again alone?
i have to consider she was severly beaten as a youngster so i dont use a crop, she can be spooky to new things and shes just been switched to a bitless bridle.
i also want to get her used to things such as, carrier bags, car horns, large transport (tractors, dustbin lorries etc) or anything that may make her spook.
This might sound a little crazy, but I'm doing the same thing right now and someone suggesting making a recorded tape of every day sounds (traffic, dogs barking, loud thunder/wind, etc.) and playing it on repeat softly in her stall for her to get used to it (after playing it in the open of course to see her initial reaction).
In just the few times I've hacked out after the initial time, each one helps more and more with constant reassurance and a calm/confident demeanor like you're doing. Also (obvious one here), take her in areas that she's already been in a group, so that she technically knows the area and is more apt to follow your cues calmly.
