my horse wont trot or canter helpp !!!?
i get my horse out if the field an get her saddled up and all that we set of in the field and head off but i try to speed her up she wont budge i try to be tuff with her but she wont budge we just had her feet trimmed bk but she still wont speed up y is she doing this and how can i get her to speed up
Getting 'tough' with a horse isn't going to teach her anything. Would you do what your parent said to do if everything they asked you they gave you a crack? Or would you become resentful? I think you want to have fun with your horse and that you want her to WANT to be with you and to run with you. Slow down. First, if she just had her feet trimmed, she is likely sore, since I doubt you have her barefoot with boots. Second, your horse cannot read your mind. They are not born knowing how a human thinks (thank god) Start off walking and then move up in your gaits and for crying out loud, don't kick your horse. Would you want to run if someone was kicking you in the stomach? If that field is unfamiliar territory, she may also be sensing other animals she perceives as dangerous - horses are prey animals and are afraid of being eaten. This is instinctual, not stupid. It is how they survived thousands of years so you could have the lovely horse you have. Treat her with respect and kindness and she will go out of her way to do what she understands you want her to do. Good luck.
