Hi. I have a question about wedding guest books. I had seen in another question (that I can't find now) the

idea of using aquarium glass beads or stones and having the guests sign a piece and then the stones can be use in a vase as part of home decor. I thought the idea was great! The poster didn't give a website or store to go to, so I went on my own to Michaels. The store had a selection of glass stones, but I don't think you would be able to write on them.

Does anyone know where or what I should look for in this type of product (glass stones) to be of something the guests could write on?

And what kind of pen / marker should I use?

(The wedding is not until May 2009, but I am trying to get the little details taken care of first.)

Our colors are white, ivory and burgandy (dark red).

So if you can't find them locally, you can order them off the net. I just typed in "large flat marbles" and this came up. There were other sites too. These marbles are called flat marbles, vase gems, glass gems. etc...

For writing on, try a paint pen. These are the kind that you shake and the ink is paint. They are great and are available in thin and a thicker point. There are many colors too. Get one to try it out to be sure but I'm certain it will be fine.

You can also decorate some of the marbles with "rub ons" that you get in the scrapbook aisle. They have them available in packs with images or words.
