Leasing Questions (Please Help)?
I want to lease a horse this summer, but don't know what a good price would be. It should be a gelding or a mare, trained so I can ride him or her western and just for pleasure. Trail rides and such. I don't want a price-y $23,000 show horse...just a backyard pony at a stable with at least an outside arena. What would be a good price for that?
I also have came across a friend who will let me lease her mare for $120-$125 a month and she is boarded at a stable with a heated barn and arena, an outdoor arena, and open shows ever weekend. Is that too little of a price? It seems unfair... for her atleast.
What should I do? Should I lease this Quarter Horse appendix mare, or find another one? I am just afraid that our friendship will suffer because of me riding her horse.... I dont know what to do.
i would totally take it. if she offered you that price, then go for it. you can offer a little more, but not anything more than you can afford. and your friendship probably won't suffer at all, as long as you get along, because you can ride together some days if you want or just have fun with the horse together. i would go for it. you're lucky. the horse i'm going to lease in june - august is $160 a month for 2 lease rides a week. and thats the best we could find since it's the school horse me and my sister ride. so i would take her up on her offer.
